I build backend services and the infrastructure that runs them. Most of my work sits between code and production: APIs, smart contract integrations, deployment pipelines, and monitoring that flags problems before users notice them.

Based in Fangshan, Beijing, where I'm learning Mandarin and spending my evenings making peace with our future AI overlords.

  1. ZenX

    2026

    Software Engineer, contract · Remote

    • Built and shipped a multi-position perpetual futures trading system across two chains: a forked Synthetix v3 engine on BSC and a custom TON smart contract written in Tact.
    • Designed and built the backend API layer powering the platform's dApps, owning the integration with on-chain contracts and the contract test suites.
    • Built AI-powered natural-language query services (Python, FastAPI, LangGraph, gRPC) that let merchants in India, Latin America and other markets explore their payment data by asking plain questions.
    • Designed and optimized the text-to-SQL pipelines behind them (Vanna AI, ChromaDB), with tenant isolation, security filtering and multi-layer caching to keep query cost and latency under control.
    • Built a merchant-facing Telegram bot with voice transcription, conversational feedback collection and escalation to human support.
    • Owned production infrastructure end to end on Kubernetes, Docker and Vault, including automated deploys and rollbacks, secrets management and persistent storage for stateful services.

  2. Africa Quantitative Sciences

    2025

    Backend Developer · Kigali

    • Built health resource management tools used by the Central African Republic to manage health resources at a national level.
    • Designed and built the internal data collection and analysis platform the team used to turn raw data into usable insight.
    • Designed the service architecture across Python, Node.js and Java, defining how services communicated and modelling the data and database schemas behind them.
    • Built the CI/CD and runtime platform on Docker and K3s, with load balancing that let the system scale as usage grew.

  3. Pivot Access

    2024-2025

    Software Engineer · Kigali

    • Designed and rolled out the observability platform covering metrics, logs and traces, built on Prometheus, Loki, Tempo and Grafana.
    • Instrumented Java (Spring) and Node.js services with OpenTelemetry, collecting telemetry through Grafana Alloy, Promtail and Prometheus exporters.
    • Designed alerting rules and routing with Alertmanager and Grafana Alerting, so incidents reached the right engineers before users noticed.
    • Deployed and operated the platform on Kubernetes and Docker, with Ansible automating provisioning and configuration management.
    • Built custom integrations and service-health dashboards that helped engineering teams spot and diagnose production issues early.

    Software Developer · Kigali

    • Delivered full-stack product features end to end, from Node.js services to data models in MongoDB and PostgreSQL.
    • Designed and built the platform's APIs, implemented authentication on AWS Cognito, and integrated S3 and other AWS services.
